Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software and new product capabilities in Jersey City. You will collaborate across functions to deliver outcomes aligned with business needs, implement CI/CD pipelines, apply Agile practices, and drive AI-assisted engineering adoption with secure, scalable solutions.

You will lead OO design, document technical work, and contribute to code quality through reviews, testing, and defect resolution

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
  • Proficiency in Java development with J2EE server technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD and build tooling (Jenkins, TeamCity, Maven).
  • Knowledge of design patterns, UML, and OO concepts.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with source control tools (Bitbucket or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of UI technologies including HTML5 and JavaScript.
  • Experience leading use of AI-assisted development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding responsible AI use in engineering workflows and data handling.

  • Produce clear technical documentation and share knowledge across the team.
  • Contribute to code quality through reviews, testing practices, and defect resolution.
  • Work with global technologists to share ideas and improve solutions.
  • Drive adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, speed, and outcomes while establishing validation standards and promoting reuse of patterns.
  • Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase value realized through automation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software and new product capabilities

  • Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value realized through automation
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Proficiency in Java development with J2EE server technologies (Web Services, Spring, ORM frameworks, XML, Enterprise Java Beans, JMS)
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD and build tooling (such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Maven)
  • Working knowledge of design patterns, UML, and object-oriented concepts
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Working knowledge of source control management tools (Bitbucket or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of UI technologies including HTML5 and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and build effective working relationships
  • Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and deliver to tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Working knowledge of Angular or React
  • Working knowledge of AWS or equivalent cloud technologies
