Job summary

JPMorganChase, within Corporate Technology, seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join an agile team delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, scalable way.

You will contribute across multiple tech areas, drive AI-assisted engineering practices, and lead critical design, development, and code reviews while mentoring teammates and aligning with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming languages (Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Angular, React).
• Design and develop REST-based web interfaces and APIs; relational and NoSQL databases.
• CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket and Terraform; cloud principles and development.
• Experience with unit/integration tests using JUnit and Cucumber; VS Code and AI tooling (Copilot).
• Experience leading effective use of AI-assisted software development tools with code review and testing.
• Strong in SDLC and safe, compliant AI adoption in delivery workflows.
• Knowledge of the financial services IT landscape.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with non-routine challenges.
• Develops secure high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality, speed, and reliability.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation and value.
• Identifies opportunities to automate recurring issues for stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architecture.
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies and best practices.
• Fosters a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
• Maintains deep knowledge of the financial services IT environment.
