Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an amazingly talented Software Engineer Lead to join our growing team! In this role, you will be a hands-on software engineer leader, integrating a satellite ground control system used by multiple mission partners. You will incorporate mission partners into ground systems environment, including the creation or adaptation of mission scripts and procedures. This will include leading teams who are developing integration code, such as functions or subroutines within a software library or program, primarily designed to invoke another subroutine or system call with minimal computation. Leads a small team of software developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Analyzes, designs, and develops computer software required to support integration between mission software and the ground system
  • Reviews system architecture and selects and implements appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance.
  • Provide development advisory services to internal and external customers, assisting them with the best development practices and guidance on how to proceed with their projects.
  • Active involvement in test based development and debugging related software.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline explicitly related to computer architecture. An advanced degree is preferred at this level.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • A minimum of 10 years of related professional experience, including a deep knowledge of building APIs, functions, and subroutines between programs.
  • Proficiency in developing Python Scripting , Java programming, or C# to lead the incorporation of needed software configuration parameters.
  • Experience with Satellite Operations, TT&C systems, sustainment, or similar experience related to Ops
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding software security principles and best practices, including secure coding and data protection
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development lifecycles
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Knowledge of Software Suite services and how to configure them to meet Mission Partner requirements
  • Knowledge of OpenC3 COSMOS
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.
  • Experience with using version control software and process (Git)
  • Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment (Scrum)
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab and Jira
  • Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
  • Ability to manage and optimize virtual machines and resources
  • Experience with cloud-based server management and deployment
  • Experience with server operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, or Unix
