Job summary

CareerNerds is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across the core subsystems of our simulation software platform. You will guide architectural decisions, champion modern engineering practices, and drive the delivery of complex features with significant autonomy.

The role requires a BS in Computer Science or a related field, 5+ years of desktop software experience, and expertise in MODFLOW/MT3D, modern C (C14+), Windows development with Visual Studio 2019+, and MFC

Qualifications

• 5+ years of desktop software development experience.
• MODFLOW, MT3D or related contamination transport modeling.
• Proficiency in modern C (C14 or later).
• Experience developing Windows applications with Visual Studio (2019 or later).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) for Windows UI development.
• Experience with object serialization and structured data formats (e.g., XML, JSON).

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the core subsystems for simulation software platform. You will operate with significant autonomy and act as a trusted expert in your domain.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
5 years of experience in desktop software development.
MODFLOW, MT3D or related contamination transport modeling
Proficiency in modern C (C 14 or later).
Experience developing Windows applications with Visual Studio (2019 or later).
Familiarity with Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) for Windows UI
