Job summary

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with ASP.NET / .NET Core, C#, SQL Server, and Azure resources.
  • Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
  • Experience in building scalable web applications and APIs.
  • Experience with code reviews, CI/CD, and Git.
  • Healthcare domain knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using ASP.NET MVC, Web Forms, .NET Core, C#, and SQL Server.
  • Lead end-to-end SDLC including design, development, testing, and production support.
  • Architect scalable and secure solutions applying design patterns and principles.
  • Provide technical leadership, conduct design/code reviews, and ensure coding standards.
  • Collaborate with product owners, QA, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality features.
  • Drive performance optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives including migration to cloud-native or microservices.
  • Identify and recommend new technologies to improve performance and productivity.
  • Participate in deployment, release management, and production stability improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and build a strong engineering culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead Software Engineer
About the Role

Evolent is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to be a key contributor in building scalable, secure, and high-performance healthcare applications. This role requires strong technical expertise along with the ability to lead design and development efforts, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using ASP.NET MVC, Web forms, .NET Core, C#, and SQL Server
  • Lead end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, and production support
  • Architect scalable and secure solutions by applying design patterns and principles
  • Provide technical leadership to the team, conduct design/code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards
  • Collaborate with product owners, QA, and other stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality features
  • Drive performance optimization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives including migration to cloud-native or microservices-based architectures
  • Identify and recommend new technologies and tools to improve system performance, scalability, and developer productivity
  • Participate in deployment, release management, and production stability improvements
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture
Required Qualifications
  • 6-8 years of experience in software development
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • ASP.NET / .NET Core
    • C#
    • SQL Server
    • Azure resources (functions, storage, keyvalut, App Config, App insights)
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
    • Design patterns & Principles (SOLID, etc.)
    • Software engineering best practices
  • Experience in building scalable web applications and APIs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Experience with code reviews, CI/CD, and version control systems (Git)
Good to Have
  • Experience in application modernization / legacy transformation
  • Exposure to microservices architecture, cloud (Azure), or distributed systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare domain / EMR / payer systems
  • Experience with performance tuning and security practices
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and influence decisions
  • Proactive mindset with focus on ownership and delivery excellence
