Job Summary:

A Lead Software Engineer job in Sacramento, CA (95814) is currently available through Belcan at one of our key State government clients.

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of the most complex IT applications. The Lead Software Engineer may also plan, install, configure, and test the Data Warehouse as needed.

Job Duties:

The Lead Software Engineer does the following:

• Analyze and refine systems requirements.
• Translate systems requirements into applications prototypes.
• Plan and design systems architecture.
• Write, debug, and maintain code.
• Determine and design application architecture.
• Determine output media/formats.
• Work with customers to test applications.
• Assure software and systems quality and functionality.
• Integrate hardware and software components.
• Write and maintain program documentation.
• Evaluate new application software technologies.
• Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices to the delivery of application software services

Required Qualifications:

• Seven (7) years FTE in electronic data processing, systems analysis, design, and programming.
• Four (4) years FTE in a lead capacity, in electronic data processing, systems study, design, and programming.
• Bachelor degree in software engineering or IT related field.
• Three (3) years FTE in a lead capacity as a Data Base Administrator (DBA) or as an Application Developer in programming SQL - Teradata and/or DataStage - ETL
• Four (4) years FTE supporting and maintaining data feeds in/out of a data warehouse

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• One (1) year FTE as a lead programmer supporting SDLC and/or Agile projects
• One (1) year FTE working with statistical reporting tools such as SAS for implementing production reports on a Data Warehouse that exceeds fifty (50) terabytes.
• One (1) year FTE working in a mainframe environment that includes COBOL, VSAM file structures, JCL and TSO

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of TBD at this time. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
