A multi-manager hedge fund based in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Lead Software Developer (IC) with 4–8 years of backend-focused experience to drive the evolution of its internal systems. This high-impact, onsite role offers significant ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to senior leadership.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the design and development of internal tools that streamline workflows for operations, finance, and risk teams
• Architect and maintain robust backend services and internal APIs in Python
• Own and evolve cloud infrastructure (AWS), containerized applications (Docker/ECS), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams to define priorities and deliver high-leverage solutions
• Champion engineering best practices and contribute to platform scalability and performance

What We’re Looking For:

• 4–8 years of professional software development experience, with a focus on backend systems
• Deep Python expertise in a financial services, fintech, or hedge fund environment
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker/ECS, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
• Proficiency in SQL (especially Postgres) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end in high-ownership, fast-paced environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from a top-tier university

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with Django, Redis, Celery, or Dash
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring systems
