Dovel Technologies, Inc is seeking a Lead Software Developer to guide modernization of mission-critical legacy systems while maintaining business continuity. The role combines hands-on coding with architectural leadership and collaboration with Federal stakeholders, product teams, and vendors.

The Lead will design, build, test, and deploy modern AI-enabled capabilities using languages like Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET, or Go, ensuring secure, compliant, and scalable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive software development experience including leadership of modernization efforts.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks (Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET, Go).
• Experience engineering AI-enabled applications using foundation-model APIs or ML services.

Responsibilities

• Translate architecture and data-governance standards into working software and guide developers to apply them consistently.
• Lead technical design sessions, define implementation approaches and interface contracts, and coordinate technical work.
• Mentor developers through pairing and coaching, conduct code reviews, and improve team capability.
• Develop AI capabilities and modern APIs, services, and cloud-native components.
• Ensure secure, maintainable, and compliant delivery with architecture and governance throughout modernization.
