Description of Task to be Performed
AnaVation is seeking a Lead Software Developer with an active Secret clearance. The ideal candidate will be a technical and thought leader with a passion for modernizing legacy enterprise applications in the Federal government space. This is a full-time position located onsite with our customer in Washington DC.
What You Will Be Doing
- Provide technical, thought, and people leadership in the redesign, development, maintenance, and modernization of a large, multi-tenant, legacy software application, including hands‑on development support as needed.
- Resolve particularly complex technical issues; provide innovative technical solutions to address environmental constraints and challenges.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to support activities throughout the entire SDLC.
- Ensure attainment of all SLAs/SLOs in accordance with the QASP.
- Mentor cross‑functional development team members to achieve collective success.
- Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing conditions.
- Must possess a high degree of originality, creativity, and initiative requiring minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Information Systems, Engineering, or related.
- 11+ years designing, maintaining, and modernizing secure, scalable enterprise applications.
Clearance
- Minimum active Secret clearance; able to obtain and maintain Top Secret.
Other Required Skills & Qualifications
- Hands‑on technical expertise: infrastructure optimization, scalability, experience with enterprise software architecture, cloud‑native development, backend development, frontend engineering, database engineering, security engineering, workflow and business‑logic engines, API and systems integration, data engineering and analytics, automation, and DevOps.
- Experience migrating legacy, multi‑tenant applications to the cloud while maintaining security posture, meeting strict uptime requirements, and significantly improving user experience (UX).
- Understanding of standards such as OSCAL.
- Expert‑level command of the English language (oral and written), with experience interacting effectively at the CIO and CISO levels of large organizations.
- Expert‑level organizational skills and ability to keep a multitude of tasks and projects on track at all times and with minimal supervision.
Location
Washington, DC with the potential for a hybrid telework schedule upon client approval.
Preferred Qualifications
- High-level application development and cybersecurity certifications are strongly preferred.
- Specific experience with JCAM, eMASS, Xacta, Archer, or similar cybersecurity GRC tools.
