Job summary

San Gabriel Valley Medical Center seeks a Lead Social Worker to provide leadership within the department and support the delivery of psychosocial services, including assessments, brief counseling, crisis intervention, case consultation, patient education, resource management, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited school of Social Work or psychology program.
• Three years acute care hospital experience.
• Licensed as a Masters prepared social worker or marriage and family therapist; LCSW license required; BLS.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the department and guidance to social workers.
• Perform psychosocial assessments, brief treatment/counseling, and crisis interventions.
• Offer case consultation, patient education, resource management and discharge planning.
