Job summary

DQS is seeking a Social Compliance Auditor to independently plan, conduct, and report audits at manufacturing, processing, distribution, and related facilities. Audits may include SMETA, RBA, RSCI, SA8000, amfori BSCI, SLCP, and client-specific codes of conduct.

The role requires professional independence, clear communication, and strict confidentiality. The auditor conducts on-site assessments, interviews workers and managers, reviews records, and prepares English-language reports while

Qualifications

• Active APSCA CSCA status in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of lead-auditor experience in social compliance or related audits.
• Experience with worker and management interviews, facility tours, document reviews, payroll/wage analysis, working-hours reviews, and OHS assessments.
• Strong understanding of international labor and human-rights standards and U.S. requirements.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to produce clear audit reports.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently; valid driver’s license.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct independent on-site audits with opening/closing meetings and tours.
• Assess labor practices, wages, hours, and health and safety across facilities.
• Evaluate environmental-management and business-ethics requirements.
• Collect evidence from observations, records, and interviews.
• Identify non-compliances clearly and objectively in reports.
• Prepare complete audit reports in English using client programs and DQS platforms.
• Communicate findings professionally without prescribing corrective action.
• Review corrective-action evidence and follow up per program rules.
• Maintain confidentiality of worker interviews and audit data.
• Complete required declarations and participate in calibration and CPD activities.
• Stay current with international standards and audit methodologies; coordinate with schedulers, reviewers, and clients.
