Macmillan Publishers is seeking an experienced Lead Snowflake DBA to join our Data Engineering team in New York. This role will be instrumental in the next-generation data warehouse, optimizing performance, throughput, and costs while aligning with business objectives.

You will oversee Snowflake administration, implement security policies, mentor junior DBAs, and collaborate with data analysts and engineers to deliver scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years as DBA, with at least 2 years Snowflake.
• Minimum 2 years in a software development role.
• Previous experience as a team manager or mentor.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration and management of Snowflake data warehouse for performance, security, and reliability.
• Design, implement, and monitor data management policies for security, accessibility, and availability.
• Collaborate with analysts and engineers to meet data requirements with efficient solutions.
• Conduct regular Snowflake performance analysis and tuning for cost-effectiveness.
• Manage Snowflake security including roles, permissions, and access controls.
• Lead data migration projects including schema definitions and ETL processes.
• Stay updated on Snowflake features and upgrades and implement enhancements as needed.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs.
• Develop and maintain documentation for database architectures and configurations.
