Lead, Shipper/Materials Handler (Onsite) (Finance)


Position Overview:

Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for the receipt and shipment of incoming materials, supplies, and finished goods. It ensures shipment transactions are promptly entered into the ERP System according to standard operating procedures and that all material movements comply with FDA and cGMP procedures. The role also involves maintaining proper workflow in the warehouse to meet demand.

During plant startup, the position will work during core business hours, with potential shift adjustments based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Train new shipping team members.
  2. Ship materials between facilities using the company box truck.
  3. Assist senior management with shipping concerns and discrepancies.
  4. Attend weekly meetings and provide shipment updates.
  5. Lead international shipment coordination.
  6. Assist with the shipment of scrap barrels and damaged/unusable pallets.
  7. Coordinate with Freight Forwarders for weekly international container shipments.
  8. Verify, palletize, and prepare items for shipment per specifications.
  9. Load and coordinate shipment of finished goods for sterilization.
  10. Record shipped items following established procedures.
  11. Assist with returning materials to suppliers and transact in the MRP system.
  12. Handle shipments of SWO/RSWO and coordinate empty tray shipments and international raw material shipments.
  13. Make intercompany transfers in AX and SAP MRP systems.
  14. Operate forklifts and heavy machinery safely.
  15. Manage safety protocols to minimize risks.
  16. Communicate with freight carriers regarding shipment paperwork.
  17. Perform general duties such as FedEx processing, cycle counting, housekeeping, safety, and maintenance.
  18. Maintain a clean, organized, and functional work area and equipment.
  19. Operate a box truck as required.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in shipping or warehouse operations.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience with ASAP software is a plus.
  • DOT medical card.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/AX or ability to learn.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • At least 1 year in distribution, receiving, or manufacturing support.
  • Service-oriented, detail-focused, and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Proactive problem solver, self-starter, able to work independently and in teams.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ergonomic lifting techniques.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in the medical device industry is a plus.
  • Proficient in English for documentation and communication.
  • Dependable, quality-focused, positive attitude, team player.
  • Experience in a startup production environment is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and transfer loads up to 30 lbs.
  • Operate electric/manual pallet jacks safely.
  • Stand and bend up to 8 hours daily.
  • Occasional overhead lifting and bending.

Note: This position requires onsite work.

Additional Information: The US salary range is $26.00 - $38.75 hourly, based on role, level, and location. Compensation includes base salary, with potential bonuses, equity, and benefits discussed during hiring.
