Job summary

Eden II Programs in New York seeks a Lead Shift Supervisor to assist the Residence Manager in running a busy residence. You will oversee direct support staff, implement behavior goal plans, monitor safety procedures and ensure daily operations run smoothly.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, experience with autism/ABA, strong leadership, and valid SCIP‑R, AMAP, First Aid and CPR certifications. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, with day, evening and weekend

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or preferred.
  • Experience with autism/ABA and supervising staff.
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Certifications: SCIP‑R, AMAP, First Aid and CPR.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Understand participant needs and implement behavior goal plans.
  • Ensure fire safety and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Supervise direct support staff for household tasks.
  • Keep residence clean and well maintained.
  • Ensure supplies are available; delegate retrieval.
  • Inspect residence vehicles monthly.
  • Manage program forms and bi-weekly billing/timesheets.
  • Log calls from Overnight Call Log bi-weekly.
  • Coordinate coverage for staff during call-outs.
  • Perform direct support duties as needed.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor and staff.
  • Act as designee in absence of Residence Manager.
  • Attend trainings and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Overall, the Lead Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Residence Manager in ensuring the effective operation of their assigned residence. This includes, but might not be limited to the following:

  • Understand each of the participant’s needs and special alerts, and the implementation of their behavior goal plans.
  • Ensure that fire safety and emergency procedures are carried out in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that direct support staff complete necessary household tasks. These include meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, shopping and minor household repairs.
  • Ensure that the house is clean and well maintained.
  • Ensure all necessary supplies are available at all times (food, household and hygiene supplies). Delegate retrieval of supplies to appropriate staff when items are lacking.
  • Inspect residence vehicles once monthly to ensure efficiency and cleanliness.
  • Ensure that copies of program forms are in adequate supply.
  • Ensure that billing and timesheets are updated on a bi‑weekly basis.
  • Log calls from the Overnight Call Log on a bi‑weekly basis.
  • Seek coverage for direct support staff to maintain adequate coverage for unforeseen call‑outs or pre‑approved time off.
  • Perform direct support duties when necessary to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Maintain communication with acting supervisor and managerial staff of daily events.
  • Act as designee in the absence of the residence manager or QIDP.
  • Attend trainings, conferences and meetings as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by Residence Manager.

Desired skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working with autism and/or related disorders/working knowledge of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis).
  • Strong leadership/supervisory skills.
  • Be certified in SCIP‑R, AMAP, First Aid and CPR in accordance with Eden II Policies and Procedures. Successfully complete Supervisory and New Hire training.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Hours: The position is a 40 hour, 5 days a week (Sunday to Thursday) non‑exempt position. Hours include a combination of day, night and weekend hours (i.e. 12pm to 8pm, 2pm to 10pm, 10am to 6pm).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
