Our Military and Veterans Health team provides support for the Department of Veterans affairs across numerous projects and delivers innovative solutions and capabilities to serve our Veterans. This particular project is to support The Office of Enterprise Service Management (ESM), whose mission is to, “Lead and modernize IT Service Management for the Department of Veterans Affairs through best practices, process optimization, and continual service improvement.”

The Lead ServiceNow System Administrator will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining ServiceNow platform and applications in support of the organization's IT service management initiatives. The individual will also be responsible for overseeing the change management process to ensure the efficient delivery of IT services and minimize disruption to the business.

  • Administer and configure ServiceNow applications to support IT service management processes.
  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow workflows, business rules, UI policies, and other customization to meet business requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades of ServiceNow applications, including testing, documenting, and implementing new releases.
  • Monitor ServiceNow performance and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
  • Manage and execute the change management process, including reviewing change requests, assessing change impacts, coordinating change approvals, and overseeing change implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and standards, as well as industry best practices for IT service management and change management.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective delivery of IT services.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on ServiceNow applications and change management process.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass a background check and receive a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree is required; + 8 years or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong Knowledge of ITIL practices
  • Strong organizational leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
