Job summary

Mark-Taylor is hiring a Lead Service Technician in Tempe, AZ to keep communities running smoothly by handling repairs and maintenance, while delivering five-star service.

The role requires advanced knowledge across trades, relevant certifications, and 2+ years in apartment maintenance. On-site work with on-call rotations and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge in plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, and OSHA standards.
• One or more industry certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
• Service orientation and basic English communication.
• 2+ years experience as apartment maintenance/turn technician or similar role.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain adequate supply of make-ready units.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and drywall issues.
• Perform maintenance on vacant units and pool care.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and report to the Manager of Facilities and Service.
• Share on-call duties and be available in uniform/badge.
• Assist inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
• Train and mentor other Service Technicians.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $26.00/hour.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards
• One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• 2 or more years experience working as an apartment turn technician, maintenance technician. make ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
• Train and mentor other Service Technician and Facilities Technicians
