Job summary

WillScot Corporation is seeking a Lead Service Tech at our Bloomington/Normal, IL area facility to ensure safe, high-quality Get Ready and refurbishment work on all WillScot products. You will drive daily operations, supervise tasks, and coordinate repairs across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, and HVAC areas while maintaining inventory and safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience required.
• Ability to delegate tasks to keep production on track.
• Able to conduct safety walks and coach other employees on proper safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Some knowledge of computers is necessary and good communications skills are required.
• Carpentry knowledge and experience; Electrical, plumbing, HVAC and welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Acts in accordance with WillScot safety, transportation, and environmental policies.
• Leads and acts to promote health and safety results through creating a safer workplace.
• Attends safety meetings.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Ensures trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates with high 1st time quality, within +/-10% accuracy.
• Performs repairs and modifications across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, painting, running gear, and all other facets of modular building repair.
• Maintains proper inventory levels of all equipment, tools, and materials.
• Performs service-related tasks in the yard, including check-in/out inspections of off-rented buildings.
• Create floor plan drawings as needed and relocate fleet units within the branch lot.
• Delegate tasks to team members as needed.
• Update production boards with status and help with work order questions.
• Partner with Production Supervisors to escalate issues for quick resolution.
