Job summary

Senior Lifestyle is seeking a hospitality-minded food service teammate for on-site resident dining. You will take orders, communicate with the kitchen, and deliver meals in a timely, courteous manner.

You will keep dining areas clean, assist with bussing and table resets, and follow health and safety policies. Training and teamwork are essential to ensuring outstanding resident experiences.

Responsibilities

• Accept food orders, relay to kitchen, and deliver to residents/guests.
• Ensure resident/guest satisfaction and address requests promptly.
• Bus and reset tables; maintain cleanliness of dining areas.
• Complete side work and check out with manager at shift end.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure timely room service according to policy.
• Follow health codes; maintain clean, sanitary work areas and equipment.
• Attend training and meetings; participate in ongoing staff development.
• Support budget management by avoiding waste and unnecessary costs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Accept food orders, communicate to kitchen and deliver food and beverage to residents and/or guests in a timely manner in accordance with Company policies, procedures and standards.
• Ensure resident/guest satisfaction by responding quickly to needs and requests.
• Actively buss tables and reset tables in accordance to Company policies, procedures and Standards.
• Complete assigned side work and checks out with Manager at completion of shift.
• Collaborate with all staff to ensure timely room service according to our Tray Service/Pick Up related policy.
• Maintain clean and sanitary condition of work areas, china and equipment. Comply with all state and local health codes for food handling. Inspect end of shift duties are completed by staff. Adhere to the personal hygiene policy.
• Attend all required training, in services, and staff meetings. Meet all department training standards through regulatory training and/or other necessary training modules as required.
• Train and/or revisit training with staff.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers.
• All dietary department personnel should follow safety precautions to prevent accidents in food preparation according to our accident prevention in food preparation and prevention of back injury policy.
• Maintain budgets by avoiding waste of products and time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• No experience required, but previous Food Service experience is a plus.
• Serv Safe or other required local, county or state certifications.
• You have the ability to switch tasks quickly and often.
• You take pride in the quality and presentation of food that you have helped to prepare, as well as the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas that you work within.
• You have a generous amount of patience and the ability to effectively communicate with many different types of personalities.
