Job summary

Commonwealth Hotels in Manhattan, KS is seeking an experienced server to lead servers, bussers, hosts, and banquet staff during restaurant, breakfast, and event service. You will greet guests, serve food and beverages, train new servers on menu knowledge and POS, and help keep service running smoothly during busy periods.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a server, banquet server, or in food service; lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of POS systems and food and beverage service.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Train and coach new servers on menu knowledge, service steps, and the POS system.
• Assign stations and side work, and help keep service running smoothly during busy periods.
• Set up, serve, and break down banquet and catering events, including meetings, weddings, football weekend gatherings, and group functions.
• Handle guest requests and concerns quickly and professionally.
• Check the dining room, buffet, and service stations for cleanliness, stocking, and presentation.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Help with cash handling, check-outs, and end-of-shift reports.
• Work closely with the kitchen, bar, front desk, and management teams.
• Step in and serve tables when needed.
