Job summary

Gormat is seeking a Lead Sr Systems Engineer to provide technical direction across development and integration of complex hardware/software systems for DoD programs. The role emphasizes cybersecurity assessments, architecture reviews, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to meet mission requirements.

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required. The candidate will lead a team, engage with customers, and drive system resiliency and security engineering within acquisition documents.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of Systems Engineering experience, with substitution options (BS + 11 years; MS + 9 years)
• Minimum 6 years leading as a Lead Systems Engineer across multidisciplinary teams
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required
• Experience supporting Zero Trust architecture and cybersecurity initiatives
• Desirable cybersecurity certifications and familiarity with NIST SP 800-160 and INCOSE lifecycle processes
• Experience with large-scale DoD systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
• Conduct systems requirements reviews and develop operation concepts and interface standards.
• Perform cybersecurity assessments and independent verification of security requirements and capabilities.
• Evaluate contractor proposals for system resiliency, security, and cyber considerations.
• Lead a Sr Systems Engineer team to exceed performance expectations in the mission space.
• Foster relationships with customers to gather information and support mission needs.
