Job summary

Semtech in Irvine, CA is seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant to provide financial reporting, cost analysis, and manufacturing economics support.

You will gather cost data, build models for production processes, and analyze margin and variance to improve profitability. You will collaborate with accounting, cost management, operations, and engineering to ensure accurate records, maintain standard costs, and support audits and cost control initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5+ years of accounting/financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costs and variance analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial applications.
• Manufacturing finance or semiconductor industry knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting operations including transaction processing, reconciliation, and month-end close.
• Develop and maintain cost models for production processes, yield management, and technology nodes.
• Perform product and portfolio cost analysis, margin analysis, and target costing support.
• Assist with internal and external audits and provide audit documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and supply chain to improve cost efficiency.
