Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking candidates for a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist position. The candidate must have demonstrated expertise leading a team of engineers and/or scientists on sediment remediation projects for Federal and/or Public sector clients.

Roles include evaluating remediation technologies, designing sediment remediation, cap modeling, and coordinating with stakeholders. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Experience leading engineers/scientists on sediment remediation projects.
• Knowledge of CERCLA, GLBA or related regulatory steps is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and prepare designs for various site settings.
• Understand sediment transport, site assessment, sampling, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial design/construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on complex sediment sites, communicating strategy to clients.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to meet regulations and policy.
