Job summary

JLA Integrated Systems in Texas seeks a Lead Security Technician (Level IV) to guide field crews on advanced security installations, oversee commissioning, and ensure safety and quality across projects. You will coordinate with the Project Manager, plan manpower, perform troubleshooting, and lead installation, testing, and integration of access control, CCTV/VMS, and intrusion systems on site.

Strong leadership, hands-on expertise, and communication with clients and contractors are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in electronic security, structured cabling, system integration, or related work, with leadership experience.
• Licensure / Certifications: BICSI Technician or higher, Verkada, Acre DNA Fusion, Axis Systems, OSHA 30, or other project-specific certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, risers, system diagrams, and submittals.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee installation goals, manpower assignments, and field priorities, providing technical direction to crews of approximately 4–8 technicians.
• Monitor productivity, workmanship, safety, schedules, and completion of assigned scope.
• Lead installation, configuration, testing, and integration of access control, CCTV/VMS, intrusion, and related systems.
• Troubleshoot cabling, power, hardware, firmware, network connectivity, configuration, and system integration.
• Perform system commissioning, functional testing, and manufacturer-specific setup within demonstrated qualifications.
• Perform field QA/QC inspections to comply with JLA standards, project documents, applicable codes, and manufacturer requirements.
• Maintain complete and accurate field redlines and as-built documentation, and support project closeout and customer training.
• Coordinate field activities and attend project meetings with GCs, clients, IT personnel, and other trades.
• Ensure assigned crews follow JLA and project-specific safety requirements, including proper use of PPE, ladders, lifts, tools, and testing equipment.
• Maintain accountability for assigned JLA tools, testing equipment, materials, and company property, and perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: We are seeking an advanced technical and field leader for a Lead Security Technician (Level IV equivalent) position. You will be responsible for complex security installations, field crew leadership, quality and productivity, advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, and client turnover, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure work is completed safely and accurately.

What You’ll Need:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or education preferred.
• Licensure / Certifications: Preferred Certifications: BICSI Technician or higher, Verkada, Acre DNA Fusion, Axis Systems, OSHA 30, or other project-specific certifications.
• Minimum Work Experience: Typically 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in electronic security, structured cabling, system integration, or related work, with demonstrated experience leading field crews.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, risers, system diagrams, and submittals.
  • Advanced knowledge of security system installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Working knowledge of BICSI practices, NEC, ANSI/TIA standards, and IP networking applicable to assigned systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision.

• Interpret technical documents, system diagrams, blueprints, and procedural guidelines.
• Write routine reports, punch-lists, and field documentation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and crew members.
• Apply critical thinking in troubleshooting and field decision-making.

Physical Requirements:

• Full range of motion including standing, sitting, bending, climbing, and walking on active construction sites.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required to operate specialized tools and testing equipment.
• Corrected hearing and vision within normal range to perform essential technical tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds or more as required on site.
• Ability to work under occasional stress, tight schedules, and in varying environmental site conditions.

Workplace Environment:

• Work performed primarily on active construction and commercial project sites with varying noise levels and environmental conditions.
• Exposure to diagnostic equipment, tools, and heavy infrastructure settings.
• Requires interaction with clients, general contractors, and various trade professionals.
