Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Lead Security Technician to supervise a team performing preventive and corrective maintenance on complex electronic security systems. You will ensure drawings reflect as-built configurations, manage parts, and advise engineering on security equipment requirements.
Responsibilities include training, safety, stop-work authority, and mentoring junior technicians to build technical capability across the team. DOE Q clearance and US citizenship required.
At Idaho National Laboratory, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on complex electronic security systems, verify that Physical Security Systems drawings reflect accurate as-built configurations, ensure only approved parts and materials are used in work packages, and provide technical input and recommendations to engineering and management on security equipment requirements. You'll conduct self-assessments, complete required training and qualifications, and mentor junior technicians to build technical capability across the team.
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use hands to handle materials, manipulate tools, keyboard and type, reach with hands and arms, and operate job-related equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. The work environment is indoor and outdoor environments that may include exposure to ladders, confined spaces, stairs, rooftops, vaults, aerial lifts, working in adverse weather conditions, UV exposure, radiation work, and hazards involving the use of power tools, lasers, and equipment. Work includes operating a keyboard, motor vehicle, and wearing protective clothing. The noise level is generally moderate but with occasional exposure to noisy and/or loud equipment. Requires work of more than 40 hours a week, overtime, and callouts.
