Pi.Security in San Francisco seeks a Lead Security Researcher to invent approaches that become product capabilities for detecting, triaging, and remediating vulnerabilities using LLMs and program analysis. You will own the path from idea to shipped capability, form hypotheses, build proofs of concept, measure results, and partner with engineering to insert capabilities into the product.

You will define the research agenda, establish the quality bar, and lead a growing team to ensure research

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years in security research, vulnerability analysis, or applied security engineering.
• Experience in early-stage startup environments with ambiguity.
• Track record turning research into shipped features or tools.
• Deep expertise in modern app stacks (microservices, containers, cloud).
• Strong programming ability in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Experience designing experiments, datasets, or benchmarks.
• Hands-on experience applying LLMs to real problems.
• History of discovering vulnerabilities and responsible disclosure.
• Ability to explain complex attacks to engineers, executives, and customers.
• Permanent work authorization in the US for SF role, or Israel for Israel role.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco five days a week.

Aufgaben

• Identify new approaches to beat state of the art in vulnerability detection, triage, and remediation.
• Build proofs of concept and carry winners through to production with engineering.
• Design datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation pipelines for quality.
• Conduct deep research into modern attack vectors across cloud, containers, APIs, and AI-generated code.
• Develop and curate the internal corpus of vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.
• Publish and speak about research findings to build company credibility.
