Job summary

Qualifications

• High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before start date)
• Two years of experience in a related field.
• Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Basic Life Support/CPR; Valid Oklahoma driver’s license; Oklahoma CLEET License (Phase 1 & 2); FTO Certified
• Knowledge of security operations, surveillance systems, and emergency response protocols; strong leadership and communication skills; ability to work under pressure in emergencies; First aid certification preferred

About this Position

The Lead for the Center for Health Sciences Security Department is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and supervision of security officers, ensuring that all security operations are carried out efficiently and in alignment with the university’s safety and security protocols. The Lead will act as the primary point of contact for officers on duty, providing guidance, training, and support, as well as coordinating responses to incidents. This role will collaborate closely with the Operations Captain and other security personnel to maintain a safe and secure environment across campus

Required Qualifications

• High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
• Two years of experience in a related field.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

• Basic Life Support/CPR
• Valid Oklahoma driver's license
• Current Oklahoma CLEET License in: Phase 1 (Basic), Phase 2 (Officer)
• FTO Certified

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Knowledge of security operations, surveillance systems, and emergency response protocols. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in emergency situations. Certification in first aid, and/or other relevant emergency response areas, preferred.

This position requires the ability to lift and carry 75 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations. This position also may require walking and running up or down multiple flights of stairs, chasing a fleeing suspect a moderate distance (up to ½ mile), detaining a suspect and maintaining custody, lifting or pulling an injured person to safety, operating a security vehicle in routine and emergency situations, and standing and/or walking continuously for a regular eight-hour.
