Department: Security

Location: Hospital UAB-STV East - Trussville, AL

Schedule: 2nd Shift Lead, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM, off days Monday and Tuesday

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as team leader for assigned security officers to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
  • Monitor, guide, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Assist in coordinating activities, prioritizing workflow, and promoting decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Perform duties of a security officer.
  • Review staff reports for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards; address escalated or unresolved issues.
  • Assist the Security Manager with shift staffing, organizational planning, budget preparation, staff development, and committee responsibilities.
  • Operate vehicle safely, enforce traffic and parking regulations, and participate in patrols.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Driver's License required prior to hire or transfer.
  • BLS Provider preferred (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
  • Law Enforcement experience preferred.
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior credential preferred.
  • Security Professional and Security Guard certifications preferred, including Weapon Permit if applicable.
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years of experience, OR
  • Associate's or Technical degree with 1 year of experience, OR
  • 5 years of applicable experience.
