Job summary

Flywire is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to steer the security engineering roadmap across AppSec, CloudSec, and SecOps. You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and coordinate with Cyber leadership to translate risk into business impact.

The role combines hands-on security work with strategic leadership in a hybrid Boston, MA setting. Prioritize cloud defense, IAM and Zero Trust design, and incident leadership while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required.
• 8+ years of progressive security engineering experience.
• Experience across defensive and/or offensive security disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical strategy across secure software design, cloud defense, and incident detection.
• Direct integration of automated security controls into engineering pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Lead penetration testing, red team simulations, and detection engineering across the enterprise.
• Mentor engineers and influence hiring and resourcing decisions.
