Physical Intelligence is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to safeguard the models, data, and compute powering its AI research and robotics platforms. This hands-on role emphasizes building reliable security tooling and partnering with researchers and engineers to embed security into development workflows.

You will protect cloud infrastructure, implement access controls, automate safeguards, and conduct offensive testing to reveal real-world risks.

Physical Intelligence is developing foundation models and learning algorithms for robotics and physically-actuated devices. This Lead Security Engineer role focuses on securing the models, data, infrastructure, and compute that power the company's AI systems, working hands-on to build reliable security tools and protect research and engineering operations.

What You'll Do

• Build and operate systems that protect models, data, and compute infrastructure
• Partner with researchers and engineers on security architecture and development workflows
• Automate access management, infrastructure safeguards, and software delivery checks
• Write production-quality security tools and contribute fixes directly to engineering repositories
• Conduct offensive security testing, find and exploit vulnerabilities, and validate fixes with system owners
• Set security priorities and bring in external expertise where needed

What You Need

• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages, including code review and shipping maintainable software
• Track record of partnering with engineering teams to solve problems from discovery through rollout
• Experience operating and securing cloud infrastructure, including Linux, IAM, networking, containers, or CI/CD
• Hands-on offensive security experience and sound judgment about real-world risk assessment
• Connections in the security community and curiosity about emerging threats and techniques

• Experience building detection systems or helping establish a security function
