Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing a systems software or infrastructure engineering team.
• Direct experience with low-level systems software, IPC mechanisms, or security-critical infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of operating system fundamentals.
• Proven track record of successful and timely delivery of complex systems software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to tailor messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and management of a team of engineers building secure, low-level communication infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ownership of the technical direction and delivery of multiple concurrent engineering initiatives.
• Working with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams — including security, kernel, and platform architecture groups.
• Building a technical roadmap that will help influence Apple's next-generation security architecture.
• Creating and promoting an engineering culture that encourages innovation while maintaining high standards for quality and productivity.
• Identifying and mitigating technical and resourcing risks across all initiatives owned by the team.
• Balancing priorities and staffing across multiple projects at different stages of maturity.
• Strengthening the team by hiring and retaining top engineering talent.
