Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Fort Wayne, Indiana seeks a Scientist, Systems Engineering (Detection Algorithm Development) to lead and contribute to EO/IR image and video processing algorithm development for space-based systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
• 5+ years experience in Python, C/C++, or VHDL
• Professional experience implementing image/video processing algorithms in FPGAs, GPUs, or embedded systems

Responsibilities

• Lead or support development of EO/IR image/video processing algorithms for space based EO/IR systems.
• Define CONOPs, ICDs, and implementation requirements with customers and systems engineers.
• Perform modeling and simulation to evaluate Earth observing EO/IR systems in LEO, MEO, GEO.
• Implement image/video processing algorithms in FPGAs, GPUs, or embedded platforms.
• Support system trades, requirements traceability, and test planning.
• Assist in instrument documentation and test procedures
