Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead the agentic AI research agenda from Sunnyvale, CA. You will define the roadmap for agentic platforms, balance product innovation with fundamental research, and guide a team of senior researchers toward high-impact outcomes.

You will drive collaboration across Google Cloud and DeepMind, tackle context-rot and token costs, and shape technology directions for enterprise-scale AI systems.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience with research agendas across multiple teams or projects.
• Experience in agentic AI systems and platforms.
• Authored and co-authored publications in systems research venues.

Responsibilities

• Follow/shape the group’s research and innovation strategy.
• Drive research to address scalability and cost challenges in agentic AI.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Research/GDM teams, and customers to improve adoption.
• Lead development of high-impact vertical and horizontal agents.
