Job summary

Wichita Public Schools is seeking a Nutrition Services Manager Trainee (Manager 2) for the 2026-2027 school year. This role develops and coordinates a site cafeteria in a secondary school, reporting to the Principal and Supervisor of Secondary Nutrition Services.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of experience in food service.
• Manager trainee or commercial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates the Child Nutrition Program within established guidelines.
• Observes and coordinates meal service activities to provide nutritious meals.
• Ensures compliance with school, Nutrition Services, KSDE standards.
• Manages staffing and daily job functions for meal service.
• Maintains payroll and timecard records for site staff.
• Plans daily menu production and maintains on-site inventory.
• Prepares monthly meal accountability and KSDE reports.
