Job summary

SFE- Southwest Foodservice Excellence is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead daily school kitchen operations, oversee food preparation, staff training, and inventory control. You will ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies while delivering high-quality meals for students.

Ideal candidates have ServSafe certification, prior supervisory experience, and a proven ability to manage time and multitask in a fast-paced school setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe certification required (or willingness to obtain).
• Food service experience required; school nutrition experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Inventory and ordering experience preferred.
• Strong communication, time management, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food production and service to meet quality and safety standards.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff on recipes, equipment safety, and sanitation.
• Prepare daily/weekly paperwork, reports, and schedules.
• Monitor inventory, ordering, receiving, and storage of supplies.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report repairs.
• Enforce HACCP, health department regulations, and ServSafe standards.
• Manage labor and align schedules with staffing and budget needs.
• Uphold policies and conduct fair performance evaluations.
• Ensure accurate temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and food safety documentation.
• Follow cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
• Serve as on-site leader for safe, efficient kitchen operations.
• Submit reports and complete tasks on time.
