Job summary

Edwardsville Community Unit School District 7 in Edwardsville, Illinois seeks a Head Custodian to manage custodial operations for district facilities. Immediate start, full-time position reporting to the Human Resources department.

Responsibilities include floor care, restroom sanitation, event setup, and supervision of custodians. Must perform safety checks, manage supplies, and respond to maintenance needs as required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax floors with equipment.
• Dust and polish desks, chairs, fixtures.
• Clean restrooms with detergents.
• Dust chalkboards, erasers, equipment, trophies.
• Empty waste containers.
• Unlock/lock building; close windows; set alarm.
• Wash glass surfaces.
• Move and store furniture and equipment.
• Report major repairs to supervisor.
• Set up/clean stages, bleachers, seating for events.
• Clean wrestling mats with disinfectants.
• Check boilers.
• Paint/repair as needed.
• Walk grounds and pick up litter; remove safety hazards.
• Safety checks of restrooms and building for graffiti.
