Job summary

Caledonia Community School District Operations Department – Caledonia, Michigan is seeking a Head Custodian for a full-time, first-shift role. The position offers 40 hours per week, 52 weeks, and a salary of $21.60 per hour with a full benefits package.

The Head Custodian will perform custodial services, ensure a clean, safe environment for students and staff, and supervise other custodial staff under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and Executive Director of Operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of custodial experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty trash; replace light bulbs.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms using established practices.
• Set up facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences and events.
• Assist with inventory and monitoring of cleaning supplies.
• Strip, buff and apply floor finish to hard surfaces; vacuum carpets.
• Help maintain building security and safety; perform minor building maintenance.
• Work with staff to develop a daily custodial plan.
