Lead SCCM Endpoint Engineer
Base pay range: $55.00/hr - $65.00/hr
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead SCCM Endpoint Engineer to spearhead our enterprise endpoint management initiatives. As the technical lead, you’ll take ownership of SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), driving architecture, automation, compliance, and performance.
You’ll also act as the primary escalation point for endpoint issues and lead a team of engineers while collaborating across IT, Security, and Support functions.
This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, enterprise‑scale environments and is passionate about modern endpoint management, automation, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the subject matter expert and technical lead for SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Intune across Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms.
- Lead architecture design, deployment strategies, and third‑level support for endpoint management infrastructure.
- Own application packaging, OS deployments (via OSD), patching, and compliance enforcement.
- Drive endpoint automation and configuration improvements using PowerShell and related scripting tools.
- Manage site and client health, performance tuning, and SSRS/SCCM custom reporting.
- Develop and maintain roadmap for endpoint initiatives including OS upgrades, co‑management migration, and digital experience integration.
- Mentor engineers, establish best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead ticket escalations, root cause analyses, and cross‑functional incident response and change management.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands‑on enterprise experience with SCCM/MECM, including architecture, deployments, OSD, WSUS, and configurations.
- 5+ years supporting Microsoft Intune/Autopilot in enterprise environments.
- 3+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role with people management or mentoring responsibilities.
- Expertise in PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and operational workflows.
- Deep knowledge of endpoint management integrations with Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra, and security tools (Defender, CrowdStrike).
- Experience developing scalable, compliant, and secure endpoint strategies.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Microsoft Certifications (e.g. Modern Desktop Administrator, Endpoint Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator).
- Experience with packaging tools like AdminStudio.
- Familiarity with digital experience monitoring platforms (e.g. Nexthink).
- Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g. HIPAA, SOX, NIST).
- Experience with VDI technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop or Citrix.
