Job summary

MISTRAS Group in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Scaffold Superintendent local to the area to oversee scaffold erection and dismantling on construction sites, ensuring safety and schedule adherence.

This hands-on leadership role requires supervising crews, coordinating with trades, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining documentation such as permits and JSEAs. Offshore/land refinery experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of scaffolding experience on offshore or land/plant/refinery jobs.
• 5+ years of Scaffold Supervisor experience on offshore or land/plant/refinery jobs.
• Own tools and valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• TWIC card required.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart L Regulations.
• Offshore Certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact with clients regarding scaffold-related work and project needs.
• Perform behavior-based safety observations to promote safe work practices.
• Lead the scaffold crew and report to the Scaffold Operations Manager or Scaffold Project Manager.
• Provide onsite supervision and handle documentation such as signoffs, work permits, pickup tickets, JSEAs, and safety plans.
• Work hands-on with tools when requested by the Scaffold Operations Manager or Project Manager.
• Oversee and control scaffold material inventories for each project site.
• Coordinate delivery and return of scaffold materials to support erection and dismantling.
• Direct and support teams in erecting and dismantling system scaffolding (Pinlock) and tube-and-clamp.
• Conduct daily scaffold inspections as Competent Person and perform minor equipment maintenance.
• Work at heights over 200’ and in restricted areas; offshore assignments possible.
• Assist with rigging, crane operations, and material movement on platforms.
