Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Lead SAP Basis Architect to drive a brownfield S/4HANA migration to SAP RISE, onsite in Orange, CT. You will own the technical architecture, oversee migration planning, and coordinate across SAP, infrastructure, security, and client teams.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of SAP Basis experience, SUM/DMO expertise, and proven end-to-end migration delivery in complex environments, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive SAP Basis experience with architecture-level responsibility.
• End-to-end SAP S/4HANA brownfield migration experience to SAP RISE / Rise with SAP.
• Deep knowledge of S/4HANA technical architecture, SAP HANA, system administration, upgrades and landscape management.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end SAP Basis and RISE architecture for S/4HANA brownfield migration.
• Lead current-state assessment, target architecture, and migration planning across SAP landscape.
• Coordinate activities across SAP RISE/ECS, hyperscaler, network, security, and infrastructure teams.
• Define and govern topology, sizing, availability, DR, connectivity, monitoring, and operational requirements.
• Lead migration activities including SUM/DMO planning, sandbox conversions, and production cutover readiness.
• Drive Basis standards for HANA, S/4HANA, interfaces, job scheduling, certificates, RFCs, and tech integrations.
• Provide technical leadership during issue resolution, risk management and decision making.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis & RISE Architect to lead the technical workstream for a complex SAP S/4HANA brownfield migration to the RISE operating model. This role will own the technical architecture and migration strategy from assessment through production cutover and stabilization, while coordinating across client, SAP, infrastructure, security, and application teams. The ideal candidate has deep SAP Basis expertise and proven end-to-end experience delivering an S/4HANA brownfield migration to SAP RISE.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end SAP Basis and RISE technical architecture for the S/4HANA brownfield migration.
• Lead current-state assessment, target architecture, technical readiness, and migration planning across SAP landscape components.
• Coordinate technical activities and responsibilities across SAP RISE/ECS, hyperscaler, network, security, and infrastructure teams.
• Define and govern system topology, sizing, availability, disaster recovery, connectivity, transport, monitoring, backup, and operational requirements.
• Lead SAP technical migration activities, including SUM/DMO planning, sandbox conversions, mock cutovers, downtime optimization, and production cutover readiness.
• Drive Basis standards for HANA, S/4HANA, interfaces, job scheduling, printing, certificates, RFCs, and technical integrations.
• Provide technical leadership during issue resolution, risk management, dependency management, and critical program decisions.
• Create executive-ready architecture recommendations, technical status updates, risk summaries, and decision materials for program leadership.
• Mentor Basis engineers and ensure disciplined knowledge transfer to the future-state operations/support organization.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of progressive SAP Basis experience, including architecture-level responsibility in complex enterprise SAP environments.
• Must have one proven end-to-end SAP S/4HANA brownfield project that included migration to SAP RISE / RISE with SAP.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of S/4HANA technical architecture, SAP HANA, system administration, upgrades/conversions, and landscape management.
• Strong practical experience with SUM/DMO, system copy/migration methods, downtime planning, cutover execution, and post-migration stabilization.
• Clear understanding of the SAP RISE operating model, including customer vs. SAP/ECS responsibilities, service requests, connectivity, and operational governance.
• Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, backup/recovery, security, certificates, networking, and integration dependencies in hybrid/cloud SAP landscapes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and drive decisions across client, partner, and SAP stakeholders.
• Executive-level written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical risks and tradeoffs into clear business decisions.
• Strong ownership, structured problem solving, escalation management, and ability to perform effectively during high-pressure migration and cutover windows.
