Job Details

General Summary

Serve as a Cashier and/or Stocker, acting in a lead capacity when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager are absent. Assist with plan-o-gram setup, customer service, and other duties to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting assets.

Duties and Essential Functions

  • Unload trucks following store procedures.
  • Receive, open, unpack cartons and totes.
  • Stock, rotate, face merchandise, and build displays.
  • Restock returned merchandise.
  • Follow ordering practices for zones and drop shipment categories.
  • Assist with plan-o-gram implementation.
  • Help customers locate merchandise.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards, including trash removal, cleaning, and stocking.
  • Greet customers and operate register, including bagging and payment processing.
  • Help set up displays and maintain a clean store environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service leadership.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Open and close the store under direction.

In the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager:

  • Authorize refunds, sign overrides, and handle bank deposits.
  • Maintain cashier accountability and security practices.
  • Monitor cash levels and security cameras.
  • Assist with paperwork and documentation.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Mathematical skills including calculations and percentages.
  • Cash handling and register operation knowledge.
  • Understanding of safety and security policies.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to read plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation standards.

Work Experience/Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with six months supervisory or related experience preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
  • Handling merchandise and equipment regularly.
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds frequently, up to 55 pounds occasionally.
  • Climbing ladders occasionally.
  • Fast-paced environment with moderate noise.
  • Occasional outside weather exposure.
  • Occasional travel required; relocation assistance not available.
