Job Overview

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to function as a Cashier and/or Stocker, providing leadership in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. The role involves assisting with inventory management, customer service, and store maintenance to ensure a positive shopping experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Unload trucks and process shipments according to store procedures.
2. Stock shelves, rotate merchandise, and assist with visual displays.
3. Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide excellent customer service.
4. Operate cash register, handle transactions, and maintain register area.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment.
6. Support in store opening and closing procedures as directed.
7. In the absence of the manager, handle refunds, overrides, cash counts, and deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and cash handling procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally.
