Job summary

HazTek Safety Management is seeking a Lead Safety Manager in Houston, TX to ensure best practices and regulatory compliance on a pharmaceutical facility project. The role focuses on safety culture, incident investigations, and daily safety oversight across contractors and teams.

The position requires extensive construction safety experience, leadership ability, and knowledge of pharmaceutical safety protocols. Excellent communication and mentoring skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years direct construction safety experience required, including 3+ years in a leadership role managing safety teams.
• Experience supporting large capital projects within pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
• Advance knowledge of construction safety standards and pharmaceutical safety protocols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to coach and mentor safety processes.

Responsibilities

The Lead Safety Manager in Houston, TX will support specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and enhance a culture of safety.

• Oversee all aspects of the commercial construction project within the pharmaceutical facility ensuring OSHA compliance
• Conduct daily safety meetings
• Complete accident reports and conduct accident investigations
• Daily safety audits and inspections
• Oversee all subcontractors and contractors
• Write job hazard analysis (JHA) and health & safety plans (HASP)

Qualifications

• OSHA 500 is a plus
• Active BCSP certification is highly preferred

• Proficient Microsoft Office skills
