Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Construction Project Safety Manager in Sullivan, IN to lead safety for a large-scale data center construction project. The role oversees electrical installation, utility construction, and multiple field safety technicians, balancing hands-on field leadership with coordination across management and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction site safety experience.
• 3+ years in Lead Safety Manager / Project Safety Manager or equivalent onsite safety leadership.
• NFPA 70E Training/Certification.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Strong electrical construction safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead Project Safety Manager for electrical and utility construction operations.
• Provide daily leadership and direction to multiple field safety technicians.
• Assign safety coverage and ensure oversight of active work areas.
• Mentor safety personnel and maintain consistent safety expectations across the project.
• Maintain a visible field presence alongside electrical crews and supervision.
• Oversee electrical installation, utility, and infrastructure construction activities.
• Monitor high-risk electrical work and ensure NFPA 70E requirements are followed.
• Support LOTO, hazardous energy control, and electrical safe work practices.
• Conduct and oversee site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Review JHAs, permits, pre-task plans, and high-risk work activities.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and craft personnel.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
• Track safety deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Maintain project safety documentation, reports, metrics, and compliance records.
• Provide field coaching and reinforce proactive hazard recognition.
• Promote accountability and a strong safety culture throughout the project.
