Job summary

Imperative Care is seeking a talented Robotics Software Engineer in California to design and implement hard real-time algorithms, state machines, and robotics software for the Telos platform, as part of the founding team.

You will work with software, controls, system, and hardware engineers to test logic and algorithms, develop production-ready code in C++ on Linux, and contribute to testing and simulation environments.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/CE or MS with equivalent experience required.
• 8+ years in software engineering for robotics or related field.
• Experience with real-time and safety-critical software.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with ROS and Linux-based systems.
• Strong OO programming and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and test real-time algorithms and state machines for the Telos platform.
• Develop and test logic with a cross-functional team.
• Implement C++ real-time code on Linux.
• Collaborate with software, controls, system and hardware teams.
• Contribute to software testing and simulation environments.
• Participate in design reviews.
