Lead Roadway and Structural Materials Engineer

Overview

WSP is seeking Lead Roadway and Structural Materials Engineers for our Sacramento, Oakland, and Los Angeles offices.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate technical materials issues with Resident Engineers, contractors, suppliers, and vendors for transportation projects across California.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement to ensure quality of all structural components within project schedules.
  • Develop and oversee quality control/assurance programs for roadway and structural materials.
  • Ensure compliance with client and industry standards, minimizing schedule and cost impacts.
  • Review and monitor Quality Control plans throughout the project lifecycle, including site visits and fabrication inspections.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 7-10 years of relevant construction or design experience in transportation or commercial projects.
  • Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering principles, infrastructure design, and construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and lead teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Additional certifications such as OSHA HAZWOPER, MSCE/SE, or PCI Level II.
Benefits & Compensation

WSP offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement, paid leave, and more. The salary range is $107,000 to $158,950, commensurate with experience.
