Chestnut Hill Lodge is a 181 bed skilled nursing facility offering rehabilitation and long term healthcare services. We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse who has two or more years of experience with MDS completion, reimbursement, clinical resources utilization and/or case management. Someone with high initiative and proven ability to efficiently and effectively lead interdisciplinary teams as well as coordinate and manage the RAI process who can lead our RNAC Department to success.

Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the RNAC Office which includes staff management and organization.
  • Ensuring timely, accurate and complete assessment of the residents’ health and functional status during the entire assessment period.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of all Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents in order to assure appropriate reimbursement for services provided within the facility.
  • Working in collaboration with the facility Director of Rehab to ensure the most appropriate assessment reference date (ARD) is utilized for Medicare/Managed Care Assessments.
  • Performing concurrent MDS review to assure appropriate RUGS category is achieved through the capture of appropriate clinical information. Identifying opportunities to enhance reimbursement.
  • Maintaining an accurate schedule of all MDS assessments to include the proper reference dates throughout the resident’s stay and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all MDS assessments. Performing modifications and inactivations of assessments in accordance with CMS Correction Policy. Conducting regular audit of MDS process including validation of coding documentation, evaluating outcomes and utilization of Data Integrity Audit reports per company policy. Ensuring the timely electronic submission of all Minimum Data Sets.
  • Communicating with the Business Office and Administrator on a regular basis regarding RUG distribution, default days/unassigned days, case mix index, if applicable, and their reimbursement impact.
  • Participating in the month end Triple Check and other meetings as appropriate.
  • Functioning as an RAI and Clinical Reimbursement resource to the facility staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualified applicants must also have:
  • Two-Three (2-3) years of experience as an RNAC in a healthcare setting is a must; long term care is preferred.
  • A current Registered Nurse license from Pennsylvania is required; BSN is a plus.
  • Experience using PointClickCare or similar healthcare information system is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to work flexible hours to support business requirements.
