Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Principal Engineer for AI Satellites (Starmind) to lead RF/Analog IC development for space and ground systems. You will design and model RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits in SiGe or CMOS, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, and drive testing and qualification for space missions.

The role requires 8+ years of RF IC experience and a strong background in RF/microwave design, with familiarity in Ku/Ka bands and relevant measurement equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
• 8+ years of RF integrated circuit experience is required.
• Advanced degree is preferred for higher-level responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate and model RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems.
• Derive specifications for RFIC subsystems and circuits.
• Develop Analog/Mixed-Signal/RF/microwave circuits in SiGe or CMOS processes.
• Collaborate with system architects, modem/DSP and ASIC engineers to partition functions across hardware/software.
• Perform IC floor planning and layout.
• Model package and external parasitics.
• Evaluate and characterize prototypes of the design.
• Characterize and analyze full radio performance.
• Assist in developing automated test lab equipment for measurements.
• Support production testing and qualification of RFIC components and systems.
