Job summary

LeoLabs seeks a Principal Radio Systems Engineer to design and architect electronics powering our next-generation radar systems. You will own complex hardware across programs, guiding from concept to deployment, and mentor others in a dynamic team environment.

You will collaborate with RF, EE, ME, software and systems engineers, travel for on-site customer engagements in the Denver region, and occasional visits to headquarters in Menlo Park, CA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience designing radio systems.
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation.
  • Ability to define, analyze, and manage requirements at all levels.
  • Hands-on experience with RF hardware development.
  • Experience developing engineering tools and automation using Python.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. personnel security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Own RF system architecture and specifications across multiple programs.
  • Evaluate technical tradeoffs and guide architectural decisions.
  • Own radar sensor performance analysis and hardware requirements.
  • Lead architecture and development of RF, mixed-signal, power and control circuitry.
  • Define system, sub-system and board-level architectures with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Drive design optimization in simulations and hardware lab validation.
  • Conduct design reviews and mentor engineers.
  • Support manufacturing, field deployments and root-cause investigations.
