We are seeking a Lead RF Hardware Design Engineer to drive the development of highly complex RF hardware for weather and tactical radar systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring technical milestones are met, guiding engineering teams, and leading technical design reviews. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF hardware development and a proven track record of bringing products from design to production.

Key Responsibilities

• RF System Development: Design and validate advanced embedded hardware systems with a focus on RF technology.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, providing technical guidance and reviewing designs.
• Product Architecture: Develop and implement product architectures while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Technical Collaboration: Represent StormQuant in technical discussions with customers, providing insights and solutions.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks that could impact timelines or deliverables.
• Circuit & System Design: Design and optimize analog and digital embedded circuits, including component selection and schematic/layout development.
• Testing & Validation: Develop test plans, implement test benches, and validate designs through rigorous testing.
• Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with contract manufacturers and vendors to ensure smooth product transitions into production.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies to enhance designs for performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all design documentation is complete and meets regulatory and industry standards.
• Innovation & R&D: Contribute to research initiatives, patent development, and technical publications.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 8+ years in RF hardware design with a strong background in radar systems.
• Technical Expertise:
• Proficiency in RF circuit design, signal chain analysis, and antenna design/testing.
• Hands-on experience with VNA, spectrum/signal analyzers, and simulation software.
• Strong knowledge of component de-rating, DFMEA, and other key design standards.
• Experience in schematic capture, simulation tools, and debugging RF systems.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage projects, assess risks, and drive technical excellence.
• Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working independently.
