Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager. The role includes unloading trucks, stocking shelves, maintaining displays, and handling cash with accuracy.

You will assist customers, maintain store cleanliness, and support plan-o-gram implementation while ensuring security and loss prevention. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and some supervisory experience; strong math, cash handling, and communication skills are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase; bag merchandise.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and/or close the store under specific direction of the Area Manager.
